What “diagnostic code” means on a VA rating decision
A diagnostic code is the four-digit number VA uses to identify a condition in its rating schedule, and it points to the criteria that condition is rated on. Sometimes a code is written with a hyphen, which means the condition is rated by analogy to a similar one.
