What “individual unemployability” means on a VA rating decision

Individual unemployability, often written TDIU, is a way VA can pay at the 100 percent rate when service-connected conditions prevent substantially gainful employment, even if the combined rating is below 100 percent. Whether it applies depends on specific rules.
